Check the starting line while on starboard tack
• Note compass course and possible line sight while sailing on the starting line between the RC boat and the pin end.
• Make wind readings at the RC boat (A) and then again closer to the pin end (B) (if needed). Another wind-shoot can be made to the right of the RC boat (C)
• Sail in a counter clockwise pattern to avoid collision
• Each of the circles (D-H) provides opportunity to final approach of the starting line
• Keep sailing as many laps as there is time left, or until you have decided from which circle to make your final approach
• Cut your pre-start routine short at any time.
