Controling a Sonar

Schedule

15 Hour, or 5 days

From Tuesday to Friday  between  11AM - 5PM, or weekends between 10AM to 4.00PM.  

Become Certified

and Join our Charter Program. 

Pre requisite

ASA 101 basic sailing certificate or, SALMS Basic/Intermediate Sailing or, equal proven knowledge.

if you already know what we teach and join our Charter Program

Our Certification Course teaches how to sail a Sonar upwind and downwind in various  conditions. Learn the “ropes” of our 23’ Sonar keel boat, or the singlehanded 2.4mR boat.

Sail in conditions when:

•  Plan for the departur and returning to the dock 

•  Seeking more power (less than 10 mph)

•  In an equilibrium state (10 -12 mph)

•  Seeking to dump power (13 mph and above)

•  Sailing Close Hauled, “Fat” or “Thin”

•  Power up and de-power

•  “Dead" down-wind, up 5 degrees or by-the-lee 

•  Proper Jibing and Tacking techniques 

•  Sail in reverse, helpfull at the dock and easy to do

•  Practice the "Calle8" drill
