Fitch Solutions CORPORATE REGATTA

Corporate Team Building at Its Best!

Today, Team Paradise had the pleasure of welcoming 19 corporate guests for the Fitch Solutions Corporate Regatta. Our team of 11 sailors greeted them with enthusiasm and expertise. Five teams competed in the regatta, each assigned a dedicated skipper/guide to ensure smooth and safe maneuvering on the water.

The fleet included five sailboats, a mark-set boat, and a race committee vessel. All boats were staged next door at the Coral Reef Yacht Club (CRYC). The four-hour event began at 2 PM under near-perfect weather conditions, ideal for hands-on sailing and maximum guest participation.

The five teams had been selected beforehand, including one member with prior sailing experience. Although we were all winners today, Team Gary stole the show, completing the hat trick with three consecutive wins. 🏆

The event kicked off with a meet-and-greet at the US Sailing Center and wrapped up with an After-Sail debrief and refreshments at CRYC. Overall, a fantastic and successful day proves that when preparation meets opportunity, great things happen. ✨

Thank you all for coming! Special thanks to our staff and CRYC. You are simply the BEST!

  • Consider the distinction between mastery and the value of immersive experiences. The "10,000-hour rule" applies to deep expertise, but our corporate sailing experience isn't about making expert sailors; it's about putting people in an unfamiliar environment where they must adapt, communicate, and work together under real, immediate pressure.

That's what makes it a powerful team-building exercise. Participants aren't expected to sail like pros in just four hours, but they are expected to engage, problem-solve, and collaborate in ways they wouldn't in an office or conference room. The unpredictability of sailing, where conditions constantly change, mirrors the unpredictability of business, making it a great way to reveal leadership, teamwork, and resilience.

If you're framing this for clients, you could emphasize that while mastery takes thousands of hours, personal growth and team dynamics can shift in just a few. The goal isn't perfection; it's discovery.
