For the next couple of weeks, each day will bring new groups of excited campers from selected city parks. By the time it's all said and done, we'll have had the pleasure of hosting approximately 150 campers as they discover the thrill of being out on the water!

We'll be updating this blog daily with highlights from their journey on the water. So, be sure to check back often and follow along as these kids discover the joy of sailing and make unforgettable summer memories!

The US Sailing Center's (USSC) - City of Miami Parks Sailing program began with a visit from fourteen campers and three counselors from Charlie Deluca Park. Coach Pat Downey, the executive director of USSC, welcomed them at the building's entrance, sharing insights into the center's history and purpose. On the second floor, Coach Ella, a US Sailing Level 3 certified instructor and the new youth sailing head coach of Team Paradise, took over with a safety briefing and a chalk talk about sailing on Biscayne Bay

Despite light winds, they had a wonderful time sailing to the sister banks, just southeast of the Vizcaya Museum. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience for all.

The boats used were two RS Ventures, the propellerless Safety boat, and the Boson Whaler coach boat.
